All things POP

Once again it is that time of year when Montrealers go crazy running from venue to venue, craft fair to workshop and from party to bed. The festival is an all encompassing tornado that is impossible to escape and the best part is that you don't want to escape it. There is something for everyone. Fortunately for you Drawn & Quarterly is absolutely embedded in the fest this year. Let me walk you through it.

Thursday, September 30th. 7pm. in cooperation with ART POP:
KOOL-AID MAN tour through Second Life by Jon Rafman

Jon Rafman is Kool-Aid Man. The dated ad icon, resurrected, re-purposed and re-contextualized into Second Life. Rafman uses Kool-Aid Man to explore the virtual world from a position of remove, critiquing and examining the social interactions and architectural landscaping of this strange, disturbing and often hilarious community. We cordially invite you to come along for a tour.

Jon Rafman is an internationally acclaimed artist based in Montreal. His projects include Google Street Views, Brand New Paintjob, PAINT/FX and Kool-Aid Man in Second Life.

His works will be featured at the New Museum in New York in October.
