HERMODDITIES Launch with Conundrum Press

This is coming up fast and real exciting. Temple Bates is an artist based out of Toronto who does paintings that are funny, sweet, charming and just a teensy bit disturbing. Her work is in the same vein as Librairie faves Shary Boyle and Daniel Barrow. She'll be launching her new Conundrum Press book Hermoddities here at the Librairie, round about this time next week. Come out, look at great art, enjoy a performance by Lederhosen Lucil, and go home happy.

Check out her website here: http://www.templebates.com/ or look at this video and be convinced:

I was trying to decide for the whole five minutes of the video which character was my favourite, and I had this problem: each new character immediately supplanted the last as "totally the best."  Final picks: naked froggy dude layin' on the table or band of angry ghosts.

Next Thursday, June 30th at 7 pm at the Librairie Drawn & Quarterly, 211 Bernard O. Don't miss it! RSVP on Facebook and read more about the book.
