Tatsumi Movie - Screening on October 16th and 19th!

Montreal's best film festival, the Festival du Nouveau Cinema, is showing the Tatsumi movie next week!

Tatsumi is filmmaker Eric Khoo's tribute to our much beloved Yoshihiro Tatsumi. It is an adaptation of the revolutionary gekigaka's award-winning autobiography A Drifting Life (D+Q) that also incorporates five adaptations of his short stories- all of which, judging by the trailer, have been published by Drawn & Quarterly as well, between Black Blizzard and the three anthologies Good-Bye, Abandon the Old in Tokyo and The Push Man. The result seems to be extremely true to Tatsumi's work!

Both screenings take place at the NFB theater downtown (1564 Saint-Denis, Metro Berri-UQÀM). You can purchase tickets for the October 16th screening here (7pm); and if you feel like experiencing two great and exceptional comic events one right after the other, you can attend the October 19th screening at 3pm and make it in time for DANIEL CLOWES & SETH IN CONVERSATION at the Ukrainian Federation.
