After the failure of my book Baby's in Bed: A Beer and a Bong in the Bath (which to be fair, was not a kids' book but rather a series of suggestions on how to deal with the stresses of fatherhood) I realized that - although an alliterative title can be cool - it's better if it also offers potential for more universal appeal.Dave (Good Dog, Bad Dog) Shelton's newest is getting some well-deserved rave reviews and yes, its title is accurate in describing what goes on within, but there's much, much more than what you might expect from a story about two characters in a boat in the middle of the ocean.
A sweet and compelling story, beautifully illustrated, look for it on plenty of best-of-2012 lists at the end of the year.
