I'm thankful for the new Cult MTL?

Back in June, we were very saddened by the unexpected shut down of the Mirror... Thankfully, less than a month after the demise of Montreal's last free anglophone weekly, the Cult Montreal website went live. Run by a team of ex-Mirror editors and freelancers, the website's mandate is to "deliver daily coverage of the city, from news to culture to event listings and recommendations for things to do, see and hear."

Already pretty much the #1 destination for local art and music coverage, Cult MTL is now a monthly newspaper too - it's official now that their second issue is out! We're proud to be one of the places to carry copies of it - while supplies last!

This issue spotlights three of our October launches (Goldstein, Kraus and Hage) in its to-do list, and mentions Rawi Hage's Carnival and Jonathan Goldstein's I'll Seize the Day Tomorrow in its book previews section.

Meanwhile on the Cult MTL website, and speaking of Jonathan Goldstein (and his new book which we're launching TOMORROW at Sala Rossa), you'll find this funny piece in which the local author and host of CBC Radio One’s WireTap lists "the top five reasons why getting old is one serious fucking buzzkill."
