We've got two launches coming up at the end of this week, everyone!
On Thursday, November 22, at 7pm, we are happy to be hosting the launch for issues 5 and 6 of The Coming Envelope, BookThug Press’s semiannual journal of experimental prose.
TCE
publishes lucid and difficult, unafraid and playful short texts by some
of the most presently engaged writers working in Canada, the US, and
Europe. This is a launch for issues 5 and 6, which include new work by
Mikhail Iossel, Diane Williams, Michael Nardone, Alex Licker, Tamara
Faith Berger, and Alan Reed, amongst others. The launch will include readings by Alan Reed, Alex Licker and one other special guest.

Then, on Friday, November 23, at 7pm, La Presse cartoonist Serge Chapleau and Gazette cartoonist Aislin (Terry Mosher) will be launching their newest collections. Serge Chapleau has been at La Presse since April 1996 and is a five-time winner of the National Newspaper Award for Editorial Cartooning (1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003). Terry Mosher, whose nom de plume is Aislin, has been at the Gazette since 1972. He is the recipient of two National Newspaper Awards and five individual prizes from the international Salon of Caricature. In 1985, Mosher became the youngest person ever to be inducted into the Canadian News Hall of Fame, and was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2003.
Chapleau and Mosher
will engage us with a bilingual talk on what they do and how they do
it. From Charest, to Marois, to Anarchopanda, to Tremblay, to the
Montreal construction industry, no stone is left unturned by these guys.
