Come, get saved!

Nice! Just received a copy of How Literature Saved My Life by multi-award winner David Shields.

How Literature Saved My Life is a memoir  that chronicles Shields' disenchantment with the narrative in fiction and his drift into the art of non-fiction writing. It also serves as a sequel of sorts to the much-acclaimed Reality Hunger which excerpted many other authors who Shields -at the urging of his publishers- only begrudgingly attributed.

From the Boston Globe: "[Shields] weaves together literary criticism, quotations, and his own fragmentary recollections to illustrate, in form and content, how art — real art, the kind that engages and reflects the world around it — has made his life meaningful as both creator and beholder."
