TONIGHT! Bastard Monkeys & Birds at Night: An Evening of Poetry. 7pm.

Librairie Drawn & Quarterly and Blue Metropolis present Bastard Monkeys & Birds at Night: An Evening of Poetry with James Pollock, Julie Bruck, Steve Luxton, Johanna Skibsrud, Carmine Starnino and Nick Thran, hosted by Sue Sinclair.

Julie Bruck is the author of The End Of TravelDownstairs, and, most recently, Monkey Ranch, which won the 2012 Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry.

James Pollock is the author of You Are Here: Essays on the Art of Poetry in Canada and Sailing to Babylon, which has been nominated for the 2013 Griffin Poetry Prize.

Steve Luxton is the author of The Hills That Pass By, Iridium, and Luna Moth and Other Poems. His most recent collection of poetry is In the Vision of Birds.

Johanna Skibrud is the author of the Giller Prize-winning novel, The Sentimentalists. Her poetry collections are Late Nights with Wild Cowboys and I Do Not Think That I Could Love a Human Being. Her most recent book is a collection of short stories entitled: This Will Be Difficult to Explain.

Carmine Starnino is the author of the poetry collections The New World, Credo, With English Subtitles, and This Way Out, which was nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award in Poetry.

Nick Thran is the author of Every Inadequate Name.  His newest collection of poetry is Earworm.

The evening will be hosted by Sue Sinclair.
