This intensive 4-week course is taught by Tom Devlin, the Creative Director for Drawn & Quarterly, former publisher of Highwater Books, and guest editor of The Comics Journal. It provides an overview of graphic novel history, an explanation of the tools of the trade, techniques in storytelling and cartooning, and, finally, the proper way to approach to approach a comics publisher with your graphic novel.
This workshop takes place on Tuesdays April 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm each evening. The session costs $200 (this fee covers all supplies needed) and participants obtain a 20% discount on all books at the store for the duration of the workshop.
You are also currently able to register for the spring session of our popular silkscreening workshop! This one is taught on Tuesday May 21st, Monday May 27th and Tuesday May 28th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm each evening.
This course with instructor Leyla Majeri goes over the basics of silk screening from start to finish. At the end of the workshop, participants (ages 15 and up) go home with a completed project. The workshop costs $125 for the whole session - this fee covers all supplies needed. Workshop participants obtain a 20% discount on all books at the store for the duration of the workshop
