Tonight!! 7pm! mRb Spring Issue Launch Party

Spring is almost here and, with it, the new fruits of established authors and literary newcomers alike. Help us celebrate the season's best in Quebec literature at the launch party for the spring issue of the Montreal Review of Books. Three celebrated Montreal authors will join us to read from their most recent books:

Elaine Kalman Naves from Portrait of a Scandal: The Abortion Trial of Robert Notman;

In the winter of 1868 a name Montreal society associated with art, good breeding, and culture became fodder for scandal mongers. The Notman name, synonymous with fine photography, was suddenly making headlines featuring the words "abortion" and "suicide;"

Ann Charney from her novel Life Class;

Nerina, a young woman living in Venice after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia, is looking for a way to move to America. [...] Life Class is an unusual diaspora novel, casting its protagonist not as a leaf scattered by wind, but as a brave explorer following her ambitions;
and Christopher DiRaddo from his first novel The Geography of Pluto;

Twenty-eight-year-old Will, a teacher living in Montreal, has spent the last few months recovering from a breakup with his first serious boyfriend, Max. He has resumed his search for companionship, but has he truly moved on? [...] In The Geography of Pluto, Christopher DiRaddo perfectly captures the ebb and flow of life through the insightful, exciting, and often playful story of a young man’s day-to-day struggle with uncertainty.

We’ll have plenty of mRb's on hand – stop by to pick up your copy and share glass of wine with us! Portrait of a Scandal: The Abortion Trial of Robert Notman and Life Class will be available for purchase; The Geography of Pluto will be released in spring 2014.
