Don't Take These Drawings Seriously collects the unpublished drawings of Nathalie Du Pasquier from 1981-87. It features an interview with Omar Sosa, co-founder of Apartamento magazine, who edited the collection along with Nathalie.
Nathalie Du Pasquier is a French born, Milano based designer and co-founder of the progressive Italian design group Memphis from the 1980s. (If you don't know the Memphis group one description is "a shotgun wedding between Bauhaus and Fisher-Price", thanks wikipedia, check it out.)
Organized into chapters with introductions written by Nathalie you'll find patterns from her days as a textile artist (for Fiorucci!), objects and architecture.
With an emphasis on bold geometric patterns and equally fearless colors these are some truly gorgeous drawings.
In 1989 Du Pasquier gave up design for painting. This book is a treasure that documents that era! See another preview here and definitely come see it for yourself!
