Last Thursday, May 21st, we were psyched to have David J Haskins at the shop in honor of his recent memoir, Who Killed Mister Moonlight: Bauhaus, Black Magick and Benediction. Haskins was a member of the hugely influential post punk group, Bauhaus as well as Love and Rockets and has done work as a sound composer, writer, and DJ to the present. We were treated to a reading from the book set to a nine hour - time stretched from the original nine minutes - version of Bela Lugosi's Dead!
It was amazing to get the lowdown on the history of Bauhaus, the band's creative process, touring and beyond. The presentation was pretty funny - who knew David J does such a great Nico impression - and elucidating. The shop was totally full and everyone enjoyed a great Q+A and signing to close the evening. Thanks especially to David J and everybody who came!
