Amber Tamblyn is both an award-winning film and television actress and an acclaimed poet. As such she is deeply fascinated—and intimately familiar—with the toll exacted from young women whose lives are offered in sacrifice as starlets. The stories of these actresses, both famous and obscure-tragic stories of suicide, murder, obscurity, and other forms of death—inspired this emphatic and emotionally charged collection of new poetic work.
Joining Amber on this evening are two Montreal poets and Librairie D+Q faves: Ashley Opheim and James Winston. Both their respective books - I AM HERE and HOW TO APPEAR PERFECTLY INDIFFERENT WHILE CRYING ON THE INSIDE- are bestsellers in the shop and their independent publishing house Metatron is quickly becoming a growing concern on the North American literary scene.
There will be a reading, followed by a Q and A, and signing. Join us, won't you? For wine, and poetry and books and thoughts and times not soon forgotten.
